Nutella Coffee Frappe

Nutella Coffee Frappe

A few years ago, my kids surprised me with a Mr. Coffee Frappe Machine for Mother’s Day. We were leaving for the beach the next day and I guarantee you that my new gift definitely made it into the car to make the journey with us. If you like frozen coffee drinks, there are so many options but this nutella coffee frappe will be an instant favorite.

Even if you are not the proud owner of a Mr. Coffee Frappe Machine, this nutella coffee frappe can still be the afternoon pick-me-up that you might be craving now that the summer is winding down and school (and afterschool activities!) are cranking up.

You only need a few ingredients  – hot brewed coffee, ice cubes, milk, and nutella. About half this drink is ice cubes so it has an excellent slushy consistency – and, if you care about these things, not a lot of calories. Milk shakes are awesome but a tall glass full of blended milk and ice cream is generally the equivalent of your entire daily calorie allowance. It’s lovely once in awhile but this nutella coffee frappe tastes like a decadent special treat without all the calories of one.

If you don’t have the fabulous Mr. Coffee Frappe Machine, you can still make this in your own blender if you have a blender that can nicely blend ice. The trick will be to make very strong brewed coffee (more like espresso!) and pour it hot over your ice cubes before blending.

If you, like me, are struggling a bit with all the back to school madness, make this Nutella Coffee Frappe, and take a few deep breaths…
